How we handle your information

Privacy policy · Updated 7 September 2026

Brigalow & Stone respects your privacy and handles personal information in accordance with applicable Australian privacy law. Questions or requests can be made by calling 0420 144 005.

1. Who we are

Brigalow & Stone is a clinical acupuncture practice located at 1/37 North St, Dalby QLD 4405. This policy explains how the practice collects, holds, uses and discloses personal information, including health information.

Our privacy contact is John Paul Davies (JP). Contact JP on 0420 144 005 or write to Brigalow & Stone at the clinic address above.

2. Information we may collect

Depending on your dealings with us, this may include:

  • identity and contact details;
  • appointment, billing and payment information;
  • health information and clinical records;
  • insurance or claiming details where applicable; and
  • communications with the practice.

Our website host may also record limited technical information, such as an IP address, browser type and access time, for security and service operation.

3. How we collect information

We usually collect information directly from you by phone, in person, through practice documents and through Cliniko online bookings. We may also collect information from an authorised representative or another healthcare provider where you have consented or the law permits or requires it.

We seek your consent to collect health information unless collection is otherwise permitted or required by law. You can make a general enquiry without identifying yourself where practicable. We usually need accurate identity and relevant health information to provide safe treatment; declining to provide necessary information may limit the care we can offer.

4. Why we use it

We may use personal information to:

  • assess and provide healthcare services;
  • manage appointments and communicate with you;
  • maintain clinical and business records;
  • process fees and authorised claims;
  • operate, secure and improve practice systems; and
  • meet legal, professional and safety obligations.

5. When information may be disclosed

We may disclose information to treating or referring healthcare providers with your authority; service providers that support records, booking, IT, payments or administration; insurers or claiming services with appropriate authority; and regulators or other parties where authorised or required by law. We do not sell health information.

6. Website and third-party services

This website is hosted by Squarespace. Online booking links take you to the practice’s separate Cliniko booking page. Information entered on that page is submitted to Cliniko for the practice to manage your appointment. See Cliniko’s privacy policy.

Squarespace processes technical visitor information, including IP addresses, browser and device details, pages visited and usage information, to provide and protect this website. Cookies and similar technologies support website functions and may support traffic analytics. You can manage cookies through your browser, although blocking them may affect some features. See Squarespace’s privacy policy and cookie policy.

Using cloud services can involve processing outside Australia, including in the United States for Squarespace services. Cliniko separately describes its data handling and service providers in its privacy policy. Please contact JP if you have questions about where your information is held.

7. Storage, security and retention

Information may be held in electronic practice systems, including Cliniko for online appointments, and in practice documents. Access is limited to people who need information for care, administration or authorised support. Please avoid sending detailed health information through ordinary website enquiries or voicemail.

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Records are retained for the period required by applicable law and professional obligations, then securely destroyed or de-identified where appropriate.

8. Access and correction

You may ask to access personal information we hold about you or request a correction by calling 0420 144 005. We may need to verify your identity. If access cannot be provided, we will explain why where the law requires us to do so.

9. Privacy concerns and complaints

Please call the practice first. We will acknowledge the complaint within a reasonable time, may ask for further information, investigate what occurred and explain the outcome and any steps taken. If you are not satisfied with the response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

10. Updates

This policy may be updated when practice systems or legal requirements change. The date above will show the latest revision.
